Parodontitis treatment
Diagnostics
The treatment’s progress is documented as part of a detailed parodontal analysis including different parameters of the periodontal apparatus. If necessary, X-rays are taken so that the medical staff can judge the state of the bone.
Professional dental hygiene
The first step is to remove the dental plaque right above the gingival by means of a professional tooth cleaning process. The patient is given advice and trained in individual oral hygiene.
Initial therapy
Hard and soft plaque underneath the gum is cleaned with special instruments, and the periodontal pockets are. After a phase of healing a new periodontal status will be taken to evaluate the success of the treatment. If the therapy was effective the patient will be integrated into an individual follow-up program.
Surgical therapy
In worse case, especially if the parodontitis had already destroyed some of the bone structure, eliminating the plaque in the initial therapy might not be sufficient to cope with the inflammation. In that case it is necessary to eliminate the remaining plague under visual control in a minimally invasive surgical intervention. Furthermore it is possible to build up the lost bone structure in a guided tissue regeneration process.
Individual follow-up program
The long-standing success of our treatments, which above all means the preservation of your teeth, mainly depends on the thorough removal of plaque in daily oral hygiene as well as on regular control examinations. We of course support you in this area and design an individual follow-up program for you, particularly taking into account your individual risk factor.
